Why keep records of your field trips?
There are two main reasons. One is to document where you have been and what has been learned during the trip. The second reason is that it can be fun to look back on and see the places that have been visited.
Teachers, homeschoolers and co-ops should always keep track of field trips to maintain an accurate record of student experiences, as well as accomplished objectives and goals.
In this FREE download from My Teaching Library, you will get 4 different designs from which to use…
There are four different designs, but each design includes the following:
- Student name and school year
- Location and date
- Educational purpose(s) of the trip – This is where you can record any objectives, goals and/or concepts you hoped to cover as well as if those were met and a brief explanation.
- The cost, time spent at the location and any other information you’d like to record
Also, each of the four designed pages will give you space to record up to five field trips!
Aside from keeping accurate records of field trips for each year, another benefit of these records is to help you plan future trips. If the trip was a huge success, be sure to indicate that on your log sheet. You might want to star it, circle it, or write additional information that you learned the first time around that you want to remember for future visits.
