Description
Why teach Pride and Prejudice? There are numerous reasons but here are 5:
- Students will learn much society about history and the role of social classes and women in the 19th century
- It’s okay not to be good at everything
- Don’t make snap judgements as the are often wrong.
- The importance of humor
- Planning is important
There are several themes of the novel. This unit will include a list and explanation of all of them and here are 3 of those themes:
- Pride
- Family
- Individual vs. Society
The novel also contains many literary devices. This unit will include a large list along with examples and here are 5 of those literary devices:
- satire
- irony
- hyperbole
- parody
- caricature
