  2. Breaking Words into Syllables – This poster will take students through 6 steps of ‘what to look for’ when trying to break words into syllables. They include: looking for an ending / suffix ; looking for a prefix ; looking for a compound word ; looking for double or 2 consonants ; looking for chunks ; using what they know about syllable patterns (1st poster)

I’ve included each poster in both COLOR and B/W. You may use the B/W version for student handouts! Students will like having a quick reference at their desks or to take home to help them as they work.
