The article will list causes such the need for more land and food for humans as well as pollution and hunting. Students will also be given several examples of animals from around the world that are in danger and what we need to learn in order to make plans to help them survive.

Within a Language Arts/English classroom

  • To give students practice in reading and gathering important information from their reading (Reading Comprehension questions are included)
  • To provide students with an opportunity to ‘go beyond the reading’ and write thoughtful essays using the article as a springboard. (Two essay questions are provided)

Within a Science classroom

  • Use at the beginning of a unit study on endangered animals.
