You can use for whole class instruction, small group interactions or in centers.
Here are 2 examples of variation of use:
#1 For whole class instruction, make transparencies using the colored word mats. Give students prepared circle letters (instructions included) and the b/w word mats. As you display each transparency, students can follow along and spell each word on their word mat using their circle letters.
#2 For centers, laminate and attach each colored word mat to a metal backing (such as a small cookie sheet). Laminate and cut out the circle letters and attach a magnet on the back of each. Students can then use the circle letters to spell each word on the metal backed word mat! FUN!!
Want to teach additional October-themed vocabulary words? Simple! Just make a list, and as you teach each word, have students use their circle letters at the desks to spell each word!
