Students will use this project-based unit to learn about and report on Deborah Sampson. Deborah Sampson became a hero of the American Revolution when she disguised herself as a man and joined the Patriot forces. She was the only woman to earn a full military pension for participation in the Revolutionary army.

Chapter 8 in the book of Daniel tells of Daniel’s vision of a two-horned ram destroyed by a one-horned goat (a possible allegory for the transition from the Persian to the Greek eras in the Near East), followed by the history of the “little horn”, which is Daniel’s code-word for the Greek king Antiochus Epiphanes.
This notebooking resource has been designed for students to write about, give a report of, and comment on chapter 8 of the book of Daniel.

What is in this resource?
A student-centered resource to help students learn and practice research skills, report writing, project and presentation skills.
Students will use this project-based unit to learn about and report on Harriet Tubman. Harriet Tubman was an American abolitionist and political activist who was into slavery. Tubman escaped and subsequently made some 13 missions to rescue approximately 70 enslaved people, including family and friends, using the network of antislavery activists and safe houses known as the Underground Railroad. She later helped abolitionist John Brown recruit men for his raid on Harpers Ferry. During the American Civil War, she served as an armed scout and spy for the Union Army. In her later years, Tubman was an activist in the struggle for women’s suffrage.
